Who is Elder Christopher Maurice Evans?
Elder Evans is a native of Simpsonville, South Carolina. He joined the military after high school graduation in 1982. During his tenure in the United States Army he was stationed in Korea, Fort Carson Colorado, Hahn Airforce Base Germany, and Ryan Ordinance Barracks Germany. After leaving the Army he continued his work in federal service through his employment with Defense Logistics Agency in Germersheim, Germany, Defense Logistics Agency in Corpus Christi, Texas and Defense Logistics Agency in Anniston, AL. After 40+ year of federal service, he retired in 2023. Elder Evans is married to his lovely and supportive wife, Sonja, and together they have five childrenn, two granddaughters and one great-granddaughter.
He was raised, along with his 3 siblings, in the Baptist Church. As a young boy he recalls the tugging of the Holy Spirit and a call into the ministry. However, as we often do, he fought against his calling for many years, but his grandmother was a praying woman and very instrumental in his life. While living in Germany in 1987, he joined a local Pentecostal church which later became a part of the Church of the Living God International. Under the leadership and teachings of Bishop William Lee III and Dr. Joseph White he began to grow and mature in the Lord. He was ordained Pastor and Elder and throughout his 35+ years of ministry he has pastored churches in Germany, Texas and Alabama. He continues to preach and teach the gospel wherever God leads him. His desire is for the lost to be saved...with the goal of going to heaven. His favorite scripture is Luke 4:18 "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord"
